In September, The Mutual was honored to receive Demotech’s 2017 Stakeholder Team Accomplishment Recognition (STAR) Award. The Mutual’s Board, Management and staff are particularly gratified by this achievement as STAR Award winners are insurance companies that not only meet profitability and financial metrics, but also satisfy insureds, regulators, producers, consumers, claimants, reinsurers, employees and owners.

Demotech, established in 1985, is a financial analysis firm serving the insurance industry by providing accurate and proven Financial Stability Ratings and consulting services to Property & Casualty insurance companies.  Demotech created the STAR Award in 2013 to recognize Property & Casualty companies that satisfy all stakeholders by meeting or exceeding objective financial criteria.

In 2017, twenty-two (22) insurance companies earned the STAR Award, comprising only one percent (1%) of 2,628 eligible Property & Casualty insurers Demotech evaluated.  The STAR Award winners were found by Demotechto have achieved profitability and financial stability while simultaneously addressing the needs of their constituents.

The Mutual is proud of this accomplishment and will strive to continue to earn the STAR Award in the years ahead.
