Collaborative, Innovative and Personalized Support to Help Insureds Avoid Claims

We take pride in our ability to work with our insureds to enhance patient safety and communication after unexpected care outcomes to reduce the risk of a lawsuit in the first place. To that end, The Mutual’s risk management program is comprehensive and centers on our insureds’ own industry experience.

Our risk management program is a collaborative endeavor. We view our insureds as team members in a coordinated approach to risk reduction and enhanced patient safety. We don’t believe in a “one size fits all” approach; we customize our efforts to suit the specific needs of each of our specialties.

Our program includes the following services free of charge to our insureds:

  • Onsite and virtual CME education seminars covering a range of specialties and topics
  • One-on-one risk consults to help navigate and communicate care investigations by facilities and other organizations
  • Quarterly CME case review articles with a raffle for individual insureds and sites
  • Educational presentations at Vituity conferences
  • Communication guidance regarding early resolution

The Mutual believes in a collaborative approach with the hospital in all aspects of our insureds’ practices. The Mutual wants to work collaboratively with the hospital risk managers to prevent and mitigate losses and improve patient safety.
