Howard Friedman was elected to The Mutual's Board of Directors on June 16, 2021; he attended his first Board meeting in November 2019. Mr. Friedman replaced the vacancy created by the departure of Ron Neupauer, who left the Board after completing his 10-year term. The Mutual is grateful for Mr. Neupauer's years of service.

Mr. Friedman will serve as Board Treasurer, Chair of the Finance Committee and will also be a member of the Nomination Subcommittee and Audit Committees. Mr. Friedman brings experience as an actuary and more than 35 years in senior management roles at medical professional liability insurance companies.

Mr. Friedman retired from his position of President of the Healthcare Professional Liability Group of ProAssurance Corporation (NYSE: PRA) in May 2019 after 23 years with the company. ProAssurance is one of the nation's largest healthcare liability insurers, covering physicians, hospitals, dentists, allied healthcare providers, healthcare products and life sciences on a national basis. ProAssurance also offers workers compensation and lawyer professional liability coverage and is a capital provider to Syndicate 1729 at Lloyd’s of London.
