Vote this Spring for The Mutual Board

As we have all seen this year, your vote is important. This spring, as a policy-holder with The Mutual, you will receive an email asking you to vote for The Mutual Board members (The Mutual Board). Voting begins April 16, 2021. The Mutual Board is composed of insurance industry experts, financial experts, and your fellow Vituity partners who are also Mutual pol-icyholders. The diverse skill set of the members allows The Mutual Board and Management Team to develop strategies and goals effectively and efficiently.

I would like to introduce you to the board members who are up for election in 2021.

Victor Adamo, Esq.; former President & Vice Chairman of Healthcare Professional Liabil-ity Corporation, ProAssurance, Birmingham, AL
Vic has been a valued member of The Mutual Board for 5 years. He brings decades of professional lia-bility insurance industry as well as legal expertise.

Howard Friedman; former President of Healthcare Professional Liability Corporation, ProAssurance
Howard will be new to the board this year. He has a background as an actuary which is integral to plan-ning the financial needs of The Mutual looking forward. He also has extensive experience in healthcare liability.

Michael Harrington; CEO of Practice Management, Vituity
Mike has served on The Mutual board for 10 years. He provides an excellent background as a CPA and also has integral knowledge of Vituity.

Katie Hurt, MD; Vituity Senior Partner
Katie has served on The Mutual Board for 13 years and has been Chair of the Board for the last 5 years. She previously served on the Vituity CME committee, helped create The Mutual’s Risk Course, and has completed a fellowship with the Medical Professional Liability Association. She practices at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek and Concord.

Marc Levsky, MD; Vituity Senior Partner
Marc has completed a fellowship with the Medical Professional Liability Association. He has served on The Mutual Board for 10 years, including 9 years as Vice Chair. He is also currently part of the Medical Executive Leadership team at Marin Health Medical Center.

Brian Rhee MD; Vituity Senior Partner
Brian has served on The Mutual Board for 10 years. He has previously been a member of the Claims Advisory Committee (CAC) for The Mutual. He currently practices at Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center.

Seth Thomas, MD; Vituity Senior Partner; Director of Quality and Perfor-mance
Seth has held roles in Vituity as a medical director at multiple sites and is now a Director of Quality and Performance. He has served on The Mutual Board for 5 years. His insights into quality and perfor-mance for the partnership are an important bridge for looking at risk for The Mutual and Vituity. He practices at Mercy San Juan Medical Center and serves as a physician educator for The Mutual’s pa-tient safety program.

Kelli Wescott, MD; Vituity Senior Partner
Kelli has been a partner at Adventist Health Portland and Hanford. She has served on The Mutual Board for 5 years and is currently serving as Vice Chair. She has completed a fellowship with the Medi-cal Professional Liability Association and serves as a physician educator for The Mutual’s patient safety program.

Look for your email from The Mutual and please vote before June 4, 2021. We will work hard to make The Mutual responsive to the needs of our insureds throughout their careers and work closely with Vituity to make sure their professional liability needs are met.
